Yowayowa Sensei manga gets TV anime adaptation

A big announcement has been made for fans of Yowayowa Sensei, a romantic comedy manga by Kamio Fukuchi. The story is now getting a TV anime adaptation, as revealed in the first 2025 issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine.

Yowayowa Sensei (Weak Kneed Teacher)

The manga follows Hiyori Hiwamura, a newly graduated high school teacher who seems to be weak in every way—her voice, her energy, and even her confidence.

Despite her soft personality, she’s misunderstood by her students, who fear her as the infamous "Ms. Scary," believing she’ll curse them if upset. But beneath this misunderstanding, Hiwamura works hard to help her students. One of them, Akihito Abikura, eventually sees her kind and gentle nature.

Kamio Fukuchi began the manga in November 2022 in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The series has been popular, and Kodansha plans to release its 10th volume on December 17, 2024.

Fukuchi is also known for their earlier manga, Kaijū no Tokage (The Monster Lizard), created alongside Sōichirō Yamamoto. That series ran from 2019 to 2020 in Bessatsu Shōnen Champion.

Fans are excited to see how the heartwarming and comedic moments of Yowayowa Sensei will come alive in anime form. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the franchise has even shared the announcement and an illustration by Fukuchi to celebrate the news.

Keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to the anime’s release!
