Exciting news for fans of Umika's Head Start at Birth (also known as 0-Saiji Start Dash Monogatari). The short anime series, based on the novel by Umika, is coming back for a second season! The announcement was made by Digimerce on Sunday.
The new season will begin airing on January 5, 2025, on TV Saitama at 5:55 p.m. (3:55 a.m. UTC). Fans can also watch it online starting the same day at 6:00 p.m. (4:00 a.m. UTC) on streaming platforms like ABEMA, DMM TV, U-NEXT, Hulu, Bandai Channel, Anime Hōdai, Animate Times, AnimeFesta, and more.
The Story
The anime follows Lilia, a girl who is reincarnated into another world as the baby daughter of a marquis. But Lilia keeps all her memories from her past life as a gamer. When she discovers that magic exists in her new world, her gamer instincts drive her to start training as soon as she can crawl! By the time she’s just five years old, her magic has reached the level of a sage. Her abilities bring her to the royal palace, where she has a life-changing meeting with someone important.

Background
The original story by Umika was first shared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in September 2019. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Reku Hayase, followed in September 2020. The manga is published digitally by Shusuisha’s Shōjo Sengen Label. The seventh physical volume was released on September 25, 2024.
